The University of California, Merced and the E & J Gallo Management Program present the NPI Executive Leadership Seminar. This is a 10-day intensive seminar focusing on leadership, innovation and organizational renewal for park and protected area leaders. This seminar will be held at San Francisco’s Golden Gate National Recreation Area, UC Merced and Yosemite National Park. Participants will use this opportunity to share park challenges and develop action plans for implementation upon their return home. Lodging, meals and transportation between locations is included.
Are we moving in the right direction?" and "How can we anticipate these changes rather than simply react?" This module presents situations that encourage participants to think about trends that may impact them in the future such as climate change, watershed protection and increased severity of wildfires.
The seminar will employ “the value proposition model ”, study the concept of alignment of objectives with stakeholder values, and analyze the current culture’s ability to evolve enthusiasm behind the desired strategy. Strong leaders help shape culture by building clear and consistent communication across the organization, empowering employees, and creating systems for rewards and incentives. We’ll look at how this may be realistically accomplished.
Participants will learn how emerging technologies and creative communicating may allow for more effective operations. Besides hearing from leading innovators, participants will become a think tank of ideas through the creation of a global cohort network of park and protected area leaders.
